Photography 101 
Photography 101 is for beginners who want to learn how to use a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. In a small group workshop, you’ll learn what all those buttons and dials can do to improve an image. You’ll learn the basics of photography, including camera settings, modes, basics of the exposure triangle, composition, and lighting with easy step-by-step instructions. This is hands-on instruction with fun activities, no boring lectures, and slideshows. If you’re starting from scratch or just need a refresher course, this workshop is for you. The 4-hour workshop will include an image review and critique/discussion.

Memory card with plenty of space for taking photos. Do not format your card until your photos are safely stored off-camera. Purchase a new card for this class if necessary.
Photography 102 
Photography 102 is for beginners who have completed Photography 101. This workshop will refresh and reinforce everything you learned in 101 and kick it up a notch. We’ll have more hands-on activities and help you through any problems you’ve encountered since your prior workshop.

Photo Organization & Basic Editing 
In this workshop, you’ll learn about organizing your photo library. You’ll learn how to efficiently move the images off your memory card into an organized folder system on a hard drive in a year/month/date format with easy step-by-step instructions. If you already have a disorganized mess of photo storage, we’ll help you declutter. We’ll cover how to format your memory card, we’ll discuss RAW vs JPG file types, efficient culling, basic editing programs and techniques, and types of external storage to clear up space on your hard drive. This workshop is held at an indoor location.
What you need:
A computer capable of connecting to an external hard drive and basic knowledge of how to use it.
If you have a laptop, bring it.
Photoshop and Lightroom Basics 
In this workshop, you will learn about Adobe Photoshop, Camera RAW, Bridge, and Lightroom. You’ll learn some basic editing skills in each program. Each attendee will leave with a better understanding of which programs will best serve their needs to make their photos shine.

Edit a portrait and landscape photo in LR and PS with step-by-step follow-along instructions.
How to save your edits and export your finished photo.
What you need:
A desktop or laptop computer (bring your laptop if you have one)
Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (Free trial, then 9.99 per month)
Basic knowledge of your computer and an organized folder system for your photos
External hard drive (SSD preferred)
Photography Session Workshop 
This workshop brings it all together with an exciting outdoor photo session with a model. You’ll be the main shooter and we’ll be there to guide and assist you each step of the way with posing, camera settings, reflectors, lighting, location scouting, etc.  
Following the photo session we’ll review the photos together and guide you in culling, basic post-processing, and photo delivery options.
You will leave feeling confident in your abilities and proud of the images you created.

Attend our local photo meetups to practice your skills and mingle with local photographers ranging in skill levels from beginning to advanced. The events are fun, engaging, and non-judgmental. They’re usually held at outdoor locations in the Fresno/Clovis and foothill/mountain areas. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.
